The Teacher
Catherine has been classically trained, earning the highest qualifications from the elite Paris Conservatoires. She won first prizes in violin, chamber music, piano, and clarinet, attended the London Royal College of Music where she fully qualified as Postgraduate soloist and ensemble recitalist. As a winner of multiple violin competitions in Paris, she performed at prestigious concerts around Europe.
Catherine loves chamber Music and toured the Castles of Paris with fellow classical artists, and performed in various Orchestras in the Paris Region.
Catherine has been mentored by violin masters such as Dona Lee Croft (herself a student of Nathan Milstein and Ivan Galamian), Vladimir Spivakov (Russian maestro), Maryvonne LeDizes (soloist at the Intercontemporary Orchestra P. Boulez in Paris, and Genevieve Simonot (lead violin at the Paris Opera house Orchestra).
With almost 40 years experience around the world (25 years teaching violin alone), Catherine delivers a uniquely tailored lesson plan to suit all ages and levels. It incorporates classical technique & posture, reading sheet music as well as exam preparations. Method coaching is available for advanced students and teachers taking them to professional levels.
Her students are driven by a strong motivation that Catherine fuels with her passion for Teaching, with proven results achieving extremely high standards internationally. Violin playing is an Art which needs thorough teaching as well as the understanding of the pupil's inner world, in order to bring out the best in each player.
