The Teacher

Catherine has been classically trained, earning the highest  qualifications from the elite Paris Conservatoires. She won first prizes in violin, chamber music, piano, and clarinet, attended the London Royal College of Music and is a fully qualified Postgraduate soloist and ensemble recitalist. As a winner of multiple violin competitions in Paris, she performed at prestigious concerts around Europe.

Catherine has been mentored by violin masters such as Dona Lee Croft (herself a student of Nathan Milstein and Ivan Galamian), Vladimir Spivakov (Russian maestro), Maryvonne LeDizes (soloist at the Intercontemporary Orchestra P. Boulez in Paris, and Genevieve Simonot (lead violin at the Paris Opera house Orchestra).

Now with almost 40 years experience (25 years teaching violin alone), Catherine has settled  in beautiful Far North Queensland, and made it her home. Catherine delivers a uniquely tailored lesson plan to suit all ages. It incorporates classical technique & posture, advanced fingering, reading sheet music as well as exam preparations. Method coaching is available for advanced students and teachers.
